Spice Island Beach Resort in Grenada boasts a breathtaking location on the renowned white sand shores of Grand Anse Beach, combining the beauty of its surroundings with outstanding service. Known as one of the Caribbean’s leading holiday destinations, Spice Island Beach Resort was the winner of the 2020 - and six preceding years - Six Star Diamond Award from the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences.

The resort is owned and managed by the family of the late Sir Royston Hopkin, who instilled a passion for a genuinely high standard of service in the hardworking team. Guests are greeted warmly on arrival, pampered by the beach service and thoroughly looked after throughout their stay, ensuring that Spice Island Beach Resort continues to win accolades for its superb service.Spice Island Beach Resort has just 64 suites: 32 of which are set directly on the beach and 17 with their own private pools. Our personal recommendation is to opt for a Sea Grape Beach Suite which allows its guests to step directly from their patio onto the white sands of Grand Anse.

The dining at Spice Island Beach Resort is exquisite. Start with an a la carte breakfast followed by a fresh and seasonal lunch menu then complete your culinary experience with a seven course evening meal. Guests can dine on a vast selection of delightful dishes such as braised rabbit legs, pan-seared Couvalli, marinated orange duck salad as well as sweet treats such as a white chocolate glazed guava cheesecake... delicious!

Guests at Spice Island can spend their days relaxing on the famous Grand Anse beach, being pampered with the hotel beach service, sipping a cocktail by the pool or enjoying a couple’s treatment at the spa. There is also a new open-air yoga pavilion overlooking Grand Anse Beach. More active guests can take part in a range of complimentary non-motorised watersports, visit the local market or explore many of Grenada’s national parks and its famous underwater sculpture park.

I had high expectations of Spice Island Beach Resort and it certainly did not disappoint - everything was as I imagined. The property is beautiful, the staff can't do enough for you, the food was really good and the beach is absolutely stunning. I stayed in a Seagrape suite, which despite not being the top category, in my opinion, is definitely the best. Waking up to the view of Grand Anse beach and stepping straight out on to the sand is pure paradise. Exactly what the Caribbean is all about!

Hotel Information

Seasonal closure: Pease note Spice Island Beach Resort will be closed from 29 July - 31 October 2023.

Children: Children are welcome at Spice Island Beach Resort, although under 12s are not accepted in pool suites. Cots are available free of charge.

Transfer from Airport: Spice Island Beach Resort is approximately 10 minutes from Grenada airport - however it is not under the flight path!

Check in/Check out: Guests are invited to check in from 3pm and are asked to check out by 12 noon.

Excursions and Activities: Guests can choose to explore as much or as little of Grenada as they wish. Tours of the national parks, glass bottom boat trips, sunset cruises, hiking, visiting the capital St Georges and exploring local markets can all be arranged by the concierge team.

Concierge: The team at Spice Island Beach Resort will be happy to arrange any tours and excursions, check your flight information, make dinner reservations or book a car rental for you.

Dress Code: Guests are asked to follow the hotel’s dress code. Dress code is very casual during the day with cover-ups required over swim suits in public and dining areas. After 7pm, for dining at Oliver’s restaurant, the dress code is smart casual, including dress shorts for gentlemen.

Golf: Guests of Spice Island Beach Resort enjoy complimentary golf at The Grenada Golf Club. Caddy and transport are chargeable locally.

Wi-Fi: Guests can enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the resort.

Smoking policy: Spice Island Beach Resort is a completely smoke free resort. This includes e-cigarettes.

Spa: Janissa’s Spa is open between 7 am - 7pm daily. Treatments available from 9am.

Watersports: Guests can enjoy a range of non motorised watersports free of charge including the use of Hobie Cats, ocean kayaks and paddle boards. For an additional local charge, guests can enjoy Hobie Cat sailing lessons and diving instruction with the local school of Aquanauts.

Facilities: Sea & Surf Bar, Oliver’s Restaurant, boutique, two swimming pools (one main pool & 1 swim up Jacuzzil), a business centre, concierge team, evening entertainment, fitness centre, yoga pavilion, golf nearby, spa, non motorised watersports, floodlit tennis courts and bicycles.

Meal Arrangements: Guests are invited to stay at Spice Island Beach Resort on an all-inclusive board basis. All-inclusive comprises of breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner daily, beverages both soft and premium alcoholic (this excludes champagne and bottles of wines), non motorised watersports, golf, use of the hotel’s facilities, regular nightly entertainment and Wi-Fi.

Dining: Guests can choose to dine in Oliver’s Restaurant or The Sea & Surf Terrace for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Room service: Room service is available at a charge.

Accommodation
All suites at Spice Island Beach Resort have a balcony or patio, air conditioning and a ceiling fan, a TV and a DVD player, an I-Pod docking station, a telephone, a minibar, a safe and a bathroom with a bath and a shower. With custom made furniture and elegant decoration throughout, guests can also enjoy Molton Brown toiletries.

Oleander Superior Garden Suites: A short stroll to the beach and nestled within the tropical gardens, these leading suites are spacious and airy. Guests can enjoy a king size bed, a sitting area with a sofa bed, a bathroom with a bath and shower and a patio or balcony. These suites can accommodate three adults or two adults and two children.

Anthurium Pool Suite: Guests can enjoy privacy and seclusion in these recently refurbished suites, each with its own private entrance. Inside, guests can enjoy a bedroom with a king size bed and a living room with a sofa bed which leads out on to your private deck complete with a terrace, sun loungers and a plunge pool. These rooms can accommodate three adults.

Sea Grape Suites: Set directly on Grand Anse beach, these spacious suites comprise of a king size bed, sitting area and en suite bathroom - all with ocean views. From the sitting area guests can step out onto their private patio where they can relax on sun loungers or unwind in the hammock. These rooms can accommodate three adults or two adults and two children.

Luxury Almond Pool Suite: These spacious suites are similar to the Anthurium Pool Suite but are larger in size and feature a 16’ x 20’ swimming pool in addition to an outdoor dining terrace. The bedroom opens up to overlook the swimming pool. These suites are ideal for couples looking to treat themselves to something special! Guests receive complimentary private return transfers.

Royal Collection Pool Suites: These suites are incredibly spacious and feature a separate living room and bedroom. Outside, guests can enjoy a large swimming pool, plenty of outdoor space and a sauna. These suites can accommodate two adults. Guests receive complimentary private return transfers.

Cinnamon & Saffron Suites: Incredibly spacious and set directly on the beach, these suites are beautifully furnished and have a master bedroom, separate living and dining areas. These suites have a large private patio and can accommodate up to four adults. Guests receive complimentary private return transfers.
