Palm Island, The Grenadines

Palm Island Resort is a private island in the heart of the Grenadines about a mile from Union Island, where guests have exclusive access to five magical beaches. The all-inclusive resort offers a laid back, luxurious holiday on an island which only accessible by boat, giving a hideaway feeling that starts from the moment you dock.
Palm Island has been named 'St Vincent & the Grenadines' Leading Boutique Hotel' and 'St Vincent & the Grenadines' Leading Spa Resort' at the 2016 World Travel Awards.

Palm Island consists of only 43 rooms, suites and villas dotted across the island – some with views of the gardens and many with views of the sea; all having a private terrace or wrap around deck. Individual wooden cottages on stilts are known as Island Lofts, set back from the beach or overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, while the two spacious villas are in secluded locations on or near the coast.

There are two restaurants on Palm Island which are both open sided to make the most of the setting. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, The Royal Palm Restaurant serves a range of international cuisine using local produce where possible and hosting live music most evenings.  A more casual choice is The Sunset Grill, set right on the sand and serving lunch daily and dinner on certain evenings.  For something special, a private beach picnic can be organised and set up on one of the more isolated beaches.

At Palm Island Resort, guests may be tempted away from the poolside or beachfront sun loungers to enjoy snorkeling in the warm Caribbean waters, hiking or cycling along the island’s trails, or taking part in a range of non motorised watersports. Due to its location in the heart of the GRenadines, guests are in a prime position to visit the surrounding islands so we suggest an evening sunset cruise, a lobster lunch at Petit St Vincent and a day snorkeling the Tobago Cays. This is a world renowned snorkeling and dive spot known for its extensive marine life including turtles.

In June 2016 Palm Island opened a new beachfront spa overlooking the beautiful Caribbean Sea. It has two treatment rooms, one of which has a jacuzzi on the terrace, perfect for stargazing or watching the sunset over the Grenadines. The spa is offering two product lines; Aromatherapy and their all natural Blue Naturals range which contains Hibiscus, also known as 'Botox of the Caribbean.' They offer a variety of relaxing treatments, a perfect addition to your relaxing holiday at Palm Island Resort.

With much birdlife, ground lizards and iguanas among fan palms, hibiscus and over 2,000 coconut palm trees, Palm Island Resort offers a true Caribbean experience in the Grenadines.

Palm Island Resort & Spa will be closed for renovations and upgrades between 1 July - 31 August 2017.

Our Opinion

My first advice is don’t forget your camera, you’ll need it to capture the incredible turquoise sea, white sand beaches and swaying palm trees, and then you can spend the rest of the year showing off your snaps on Facebook or reminiscing while it pours with rain outside!
The Loft Rooms are really spacious and the sea breeze keeps them wonderfully cool. Top tip at Palm Island is to make sure you hire a bike and go and see the other side of the island which is a bit more wild and definitely blows the cobwebs away.
Also, make the most of the stunning surroundings at Palm Island and take a boat trip to the Tobago Cays for a spot of snorkelling.
