Soneva Fushi is quite unlike any other hotel that we have visited! It’s not so much a hotel as a unique holiday experience. The emphasis at Soneva Fushi is on understated barefoot luxury. The motto here is ‘no news, no shoes’ and upon arrival you are given a bag to put your shoes in – you won’t need them until you leave!Situated on one of the largest islands in the Maldives (more than a mile long) there are 65 amazing rooms, well spaced out around the island. They have been innovatively designed to maximise privacy and space, built of local materials with white washed walls, thatched roofs and timber beams and galleries, but with every conceivable modern comfort, including designer furnishings.
Dinner at Soneva Fushi can be as unique as the resort. The menu is a fusion of Asian and European cuisine and served in the romantic candlelit Sense by the Beach restaurant, or in your room, on a private sandbank, the beach, or anywhere else you choose! Nothing is too much trouble!
The bar and restaurant have sand floors and chickens freely roam the island. The resort has it’s own herb garden and guided tours, or even a meal to sample the fresh produce, is possible. There is an excellent dive centre, range of watersports, and superb spa.
Soneva Fushi is now operating its own dedicated seaplanes. These accommodate fewer seats for maximum comfort. Guests benefit from flexible flight schedules and direct routes between Male and Soneva Fushi without any intermediate stops.
