In the Indian Ocean, on the equator about 375 miles south west of Sri Lanka, the 1200 coral atolls that make up the Maldives are perhaps the ultimate tropical paradise. Only 90 have been designated as holiday islands, occupied by one small resort and reached by seaplane or speedboat.
Otherwise known as Kolhumadulu, Thaa Atoll is made up of thirteen small inhabited islands, and is ideal for a relaxing holiday. The capital of the Atoll is Veymadoo.
