if you have any questions about future travel to the BVI.
Bitter End Yacht Club is accessible only by sea, located beside a mile long, white sandy beach on North Sound on Virgin Gorda, the second largest island in the BVI. The resort is ideal for families and keen sailors alike.
To satisfy all holiday wishes from those wanting to be afloat to others seeking spa treatments and poolside loungers, Bitter End Yacht Club offers a variety of options including chartering your own Freedom 30 yacht.
With a club fleet of over 100 sailboats, kayaks and wind surfers as well as small motor boats, up to 12 weekly excursions, a world renowned Sailing School, and an on-site dive and kite boarding shop, Bitter End caters for all watersport enthusiasts from beginners to those with more experience. Guests have free use of a variety of boats including Optimists, Hobie Cats, Lasers, J24s, Rhodes 19s (similar to a Squib) and Boston Whalers (with outboards).
The excellent sailing school runs a range of courses (at an extra cost) including an introduction to sailing, racing, cruising and board sailing, as well as a youth sailing programme. For an extra cost, scuba diving courses are available and regular excursions are made to some superb reef dives, plus the famous RMS Rhone wreck. There are also daily escorted snorkelling trips and regular blue water cruises to Anegada, The Baths and Norman Island.
To cap off the sailing, there is a Laser regatta held every Sunday morning while the Rhodes 19s are raced on Sunday afternoons. Each November there is an opportunity to race with Admiral's Cup & Olympic stars in the pro-am regatta where previously invited skippers have included Harold Cudmore and Russell Coutts.
Ashore there is a choice of three bars and restaurants. The Clubhouse Steak and Seafood Grill is open from breakfast through to dinner, offering buffet and table service. The al fresco Almond Walk serves a gourmet menu while The Crawl Pub offers pizza straight from its brick oven.
The 89 hillside or beachfront rooms have superb sea views and are designed to take advantage of the gentle trade winds with wraparound verandas, often featuring a double hammock. The Club represents excellent value for families and the family package provides a discounted children's room when children are traveling with two adults. The discount includes children’s use of all the facilities and boats but excludes the cost for meals, tax and the service charge. Bitter End Yacht Club is not recommended for those who have difficulty walking.
Bitter End now offers guests the ultimate spa experience from exotic Aromatherapy massages and private yoga sessions on the beach to manicures, pedicures, facials and herbal wraps designed to refresh guests – even after an active day on or in the water.
