Conrad Maldives Rangali Island enjoys a spectacular setting between two tiny tropical islands which are connected by a footbridge. Rangali Island is adults-only while Rangalifinolhu Island is family-friendly, with plenty of facilities and amenities to suit all holiday styles. Constructed of local timber and thatch, the buildings blend naturally into the local environment whilst ensuring a contemporary and modern appeal throughout.
Accommodation is in 148 luxurious water and beach villas spread around both islands, many with a private plunge pool. Most of the water villas are built on stilts in the lagoon around the island of Rangali, which is also home to a number of restaurants and a yoga pavilion. Spacious beach villas all face the sea on Rangalifnolhu, where guests will also find many of the resort's facilities including the kids club and a free-form swimming pool. A third villa location is the Spa Retreat just off the tip of Rangalifnolhu island, where water villas which are suitable for families or couples boast their own private spa treatment room. Due to open in November 2018 is the world's first underwater guestroom, a spectacular two-level residence with spaces for living and sleeping both above and below sea level. Five metres below the sea’s surface is a bedroom, living area and bathroom, providing 180 degree views of the Indian Ocean’s marine life.
The cuisine is excellent and offers an exceptional variety in the twelve unique bars and restaurants. These include Ithaa, the world's first undersea restaurant where guests can dine with panoramic views of the vibrant coral gardens; the romantic, open air Koko Grill where a Japanese tasting menu is prepared in an open kitchen; Mandhoo, an over-water restaurant serving cuisine to detoxify and energise; and the newly opened Ufaa by Jereme Leung. Guests can also enjoy unique dining experiences such as private beach dinners under the stars.
There is an excellent watersports centre offering activities such as catamaran sailing, windsurfing, canoeing and water skiing, while the resort's coral reef lies just steps from the beach. The Ocean Dive Centre offers scuba diving courses and excursions for beginners and experienced divers alike, allowing guests to discover over 40 different dive sites within easy reach of the resort. Ashore there are tennis courts, a beach volleyball court, a meditation pavilion and a fitness centre.
Two spas offer a range of treatments and Ayurvedic massages - the Spa Retreat is set on stilts above the lagoon 50 metres off the tip of Rangalifinolhu Island and consists of 15 treatment rooms as well as a hair salon and manicure room, while the Over Water Spa is comprised of four treatment rooms (some with glass floors providing views of the coral reef below) just off Rangali Island.
