Discover Antigua

Posted on

Tropic Breeze founder, Jo Plummer, has been on the move again – this time staying at the rustic all-inclusive adult-only resort, COCOS Hotel. Antigua is an increasingly popular Caribbean holiday destination known for having 365 beaches, one for each day of the year. Visitors to the island can explore the stunning coastline, soak up the local history and culture or take part in water sports such as sailing, which is particularly popular thanks to the superb weather conditions.

We maintain close relationships with each hotel, allowing us to offer personalised recommendations based on our experiences in each resort. If you would like further information on any of the properties mentioned or a quote, please call us on 01752 880 880 or email info@tropicbreeze.co.uk

Relax at COCOS Hotel

What can I say! From the second I arrived at COCOS I was completely wowed by the views and incredible colour of the sea. No photo could fully capture it! The resort itself sits on a low ocean bluff between two breath-taking beaches, where I found myself relaxing on the sun loungers for hours taking in the beautiful colours whilst watching the pelicans along the cliffs.

The rustic wooden cottages are perfectly placed on the hillside allowing you to enjoy the beautiful colours of the sea and spectacular sunsets from your own private terrace or plunge pool, perfect for couples and honeymooners looking for a romantic getaway.

Unwind at Siboney Beach Club

Set in Dickenson Bay, voted one of the best beaches in the world, Siboney Beach Club is still one of my top recommendations for anyone looking for an alternative option to the larger all-inclusive resorts, and a base to allow you to explore the local area. Just 7 miles from the airport, this charming hotel is a real hidden gem and a great option for families, with interconnecting rooms now available as well as spacious one bedroom suites with kitchenettes. The staff are as warm and welcoming as I remembered them to be, and the food served in the hotel’s beachfront restaurant, Salt Plage, was absolutely delicious.

Recharge at Cocobay

Cocobay is set on a headland just along the beach from COCOS, but whilst these are both boutique, adults only properties, the two hotels could not be more different in terms of style. Cocobay offers chic yet homely cottages ideal for those seeking privacy and relaxation in an absolutely stunning setting. Some cottages have their own private plunge pools, but there is also a small infinity pool on the terrace offering views over the bay. For those who prefer to spend their days soaking up the sun on the beach, Cocobay has two to choose from.
Though it is not included in their all inclusive package, having Sheer Rocks Restaurant right on your doorstep is also a very good reason to stay at Cocobay!

Chill Out at Sheer Rocks

Sitting on the edge of a sunset facing bluff over the rocks of Ffyes bay, Sheer Rocks, founded in 2010, has now become known as one of the most beautiful and must-visit dining spots in Antigua. Relax in one of the draped pavilions or four poster daybeds while enjoying Mediterranean tapas, or cool down in the plunge pool whilst enjoying views of the West Coast. The à la carte menu offers everything from 7-grain bread to home made ice cream and sorbets, alongside an expert wine list, artistic cocktails and fantastic service.

Indulge at Catherine’s Cafe

On the stunning Pigeon Point Beach is another of the team’s favourite eateries – Catherine’s Café. Head Chef, Jack Boast, previously spent 7 years working under the Michelin star rated Galvin Brothers. Along with his team, he offers guests classical French cuisine with Provence-style influences in a relaxed, light and lively beach café. Catherine’s have recently added two new seating areas on the beach, new menu items such as French Tartines and offer live music on Saturday afternoons.
