The beautiful island of Bequia is the second largest of the Grenadine islands – a chain of small islands stretching around 50 miles from St Vincent in the north to Grenada in the south. The Grenadines are an ideal destination for those looking to experience something a little more off the beaten track and offer some of the best snorkelling and sailing in the Caribbean. Bequia is an authentic island hideaway. It exudes character and charm in equal measure and works well as either a standalone destination or as a twin-centre with islands such as Barbados or St Lucia.

One of the highlights is of course its spectacular beaches, but there are also plenty of places of interest to visit, such as a turtle sanctuary and tropical fruit plantations. History lovers meanwhile can pay a visit to the Bequia Heritage museum and learn about the island’s proud seafaring heritage – Bequia was once thought of as the boat building capital of the West Indies.

There are over 30 dive sites within easy reach of the island and two PADI dive centres to choose from.
