Arranged on three floors without lifts, Southern Palms has 92 units comprising of guest rooms and suites with kitchenettes – all with a private balcony or patio, many with a view of the ocean.
There is a waterfront restaurant, Garden Terrace, and the Khus Khus bar for local beers and cocktails as the sun goes down. Complimentary afternoon tea is served daily and there is a weekly Manager’s cocktail party.
Southern Palms has two freshwater pools, two floodlit tennis courts, shuffleboard and a mini golf course. On the beach windsurfing and boogie boarding are available as well as weekly scuba diving instruction.
The beach is also an active nesting ground for the endangered Hawksbill Turtle, whose nesting and hatching can be seen between May and October, though hatching can take place as late as December.

A real gem on the South Coast, this small hotel boasts a beautiful beachside location right on the doorstep of St Lawrence Gap, and its many bars and restaurants.
Great value for money, there is a range of rooms and suites many with kitchenettes and most with striking ocean views. With the flexibility of self-catering or many restaurants nearby you are spoilt for choice, but if you can’t be bothered to move far from the beautiful beach or two pools, the food at Southern Palm is also good with a nice variety. Even though there isn’t a huge amount of guests or rooms the hotel feels relatively large as it is spaced out well and there are many activities and water sports.
Staying in July we were lucky enough to see a Turtle each night directly in front of the hotel, as it was nesting season which is from mid-May to mid-October.
