Anguilla is renowned for it’s superb white sand beaches – that’s quite an accolade in a region that is known for perfect tropical beaches! It’s a beach-lovers paradise with long stretches of perfect white coral-sand, tiny enclosed coves and classic half moon shaped bays, some with beach bars, some on which the locals are playing cricket and many just deserted! Anguilla's enjoys a sub-tropical climate with an average temperature of 80 degrees F, and due to its geography attracts less rainfall than other islands.
The island has some top quality, fashionable hotels and villas, as well as a good range of affordable villas and guest houses and several gourmet restaurants.
The scenery is not dramatic – being a coral island the highest point is just 213 ft above sea level and the vegetation is mainly scrub, whilst many of the buildings are made of white painted concrete. However the friendly warmth of the local people, combined with the superb beaches and gourmet restaurants have firmly established Anguilla as one of the most exclusive, laid back islands in the Caribbean.
