Hermitage Bay is an all-inclusive retreat on the southwest coast of Antigua that has a reputation for being one of the island’s most chic, luxurious resorts.
The privately owned resort overlooks one of the island's most beautiful beaches, with 27 individual cottages that are nestled on the hillside, amid the 16 acres of tropical gardens or along the beachfront. The exquisite cottages all face the sea and boast panoramic views, offering a luxurious setting with pristine white walls and dark wood floors and furniture.
Dining at Hermitage Bay is overseen by Executive Chef, Desroy Spence and his team, which serves a creative, daily changing menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast is served on the patio overlooking the ocean whilst dinner is served in the restaurant to the gentle backdrop of live entertainment.
Much of the restaurant’s produce is sourced from both an onsite organic vegetable garden and a local farm run by Mr Christian, whose father ran it before. Guests can enjoy a complimentary cooking course and demonstrations with the chef as well as enjoy a tour of the farm.
Other island activities can be arranged by your room ambassador including fishing, golf, sailing, and scuba diving expeditions plus trips to explore Antigua’s historic sites. Hermitage Bay is only ten minutes away from the Jolly Harbour Marina complex which offers shops, restaurants, golf and tennis courts.
In addition to the fitness centre, Hermitage Bay can arrange non motorized activities such as snorkeling, windsurfing, kayaking, paddle boards, Hobie Cats and sunfish sailing.
Hermitage Bay is a favourite choice for its friendly, attentive service, incredible cuisine and breathtaking setting, making it an ideal option for those looking to spoil themselves!
Ever thought it is not possible to find an exclusive exquisite retreat from an Antigua holiday? Think again, Hermitage Bay is it. From the moment you enter the resort you know you have landed amongst the elite, and for those of us that just usually dream, you seriously need to consider treating yourself just once to experience this gorgeous haven of luxury.
Hidden away in a stunning calm bay, the hotel is made up of 25 detached cottages that rise from the beachfront, up into the steep hill behind, spread out nicely amongst the 16 acres of lush tropical gardens. When I sat sipping my freshly made mojito amongst the eco-chic décor, I felt truly relaxed and like I was where I had always wanted to be on a Caribbean holiday. Nothing is too much trouble, and if you are celebrating something special, or simply just being together, every couple should head over to one of the 2 private beaches on the speedboat with a picnic basket packed with luxuries and champagne.
My favourite thing about the hotel is the huge roll top baths in the cottages which simply have to be seen to be believed?! If you want to be blown away by attention to detail, this is the place to be!
