Kate’s Barbados Trip

Posted on

Kate has recently returned from a busy week in Barbados, visiting hotels and exploring the island. As the newest member of the Tropic Breeze sales team, she found it an amazing experience to be able to see the hotels we sell first hand and get a real feel for the destination.

Kate was lucky enough to stay at O2 Beach Club whilst she was in Barbados. This all inclusive resort on the south coast of the island has recently undergone a complete renovation and offers luxurious rooms, suites and residences just steps from a white sand beach. With a range of dining and activity options, O2 Beach Club is ideal for those looking for an indulgent and exclusive Caribbean escape. Kate particularly enjoyed the stunning ocean views from the comfy lounger on her balcony! Do get in touch with us if you are interested at a stay in O2 Beach Club – Kate would be more than happy to share her feedback with you.

Kate also visited several other hotels whilst she was on island. On her first full day, she enjoyed lunch at Sea Breeze Beach House, where she particularly liked the laid back atmosphere and spectacular ocean views that greet you as soon as you walk into reception. When visiting Colony Club the following day, she was treated to a beautiful BBQ dinner on the beach, which would be perfect for a couple celebrating a special occasion. She also loved the sprawling tropical gardens and meandering lagoon shaped pool at Colony Club.

One of Kate’s favourite hotels was Fairmont Royal Pavilion, where she was treated to lunch accompanied by views over the hotel’s stunning beach. She was impressed by the spaciousness and oceanfront location of the rooms and found the general atmosphere to be very warm and welcoming. Her next visit was to Cobblers Cove, where she was blown away by the level of service and attention to detail. She also thought that the sun loungers were probably some of the most luxurious she has ever seen!

Of course a trip to Barbados is all about exploring the island as well! Kate took part in some fantastic excursions, and one of the best experiences of her trip was going on a luxury catamaran cruise. The service on board was exemplary, with a great selection of drinks and canapes available, as well as a beautiful lunch served on board. The highlight of the cruise for her though was snorkelling with turtles in a calm bay and getting to see manta rays.

Another memorable experience for Kate was the Mount Gay Rum Tour, which consisted of a walk around the estate and a tour demonstrating the distilling process, followed by a rum tasting. It turned out to be a great tour for history lovers as well as rum fans!

On her last day in Barbados, Kate went on an off road Island Jeep Safari. She loved the fun atmosphere of the tour and thought it was a great way to see different parts of the island that you otherwise wouldn’t see. The tour took her along the rugged east coast of Barbados and the highlight for her was visiting the quaint village of Bathsheba.

Any regular visitor to Barbados knows that the island has an excellent restaurant scene. Kate had so many amazing dining experiences on her trip that she really struggled to pick a favourite, but lunch at Local & Co in Speightstown was definitely a contender. The restaurant boasts a great location offering diners the choice of sitting in the air-conditioned lounge, outside on the terrace or even on the beach. Kate found the food to be beautifully presented and the restaurant a great spot for people watching!
