Here at Tropic Breeze, we pride ourselves on our expert knowledge of the Caribbean, Maldives, Mauritius and Seychelles. It’s exactly this knowledge that helps us find you the perfect luxury holiday. But we didn’t get all this knowhow from just reading reviews and looking at nice pictures… we have been there!
One of the Tropic Breeze team has visited each of the resorts we feature on our website. This helps us to ensure we can match the right hotel to the right client, and allows us to find out everything there is to know about the location. What are the beaches like? Where are the best local restaurants? How do we book activities and excursions? No matter what the query, we have the answer thanks to our hardworking, passionate team members.
As holiday experts, the Tropic Breeze Team have a keen sense for luxury and leisure, so it takes a resort of the highest standard to catch their eye. Let’s take a look at some of the Tropic Picks from our sales team: Jess, Jessie, Kate and Trish.
Jess’s Tropic Pick – COCOS Hotel in Antigua
Travel Specialist Jess very much enjoyed her stay at COCOS Hotel on her last visit to Antigua. A small yet high-class property set on an ocean bluff between two gorgeous white sand beaches, COCOS is an all-inclusive adults only resort that is the the perfect escape for couples. From the balcony of your spacious and private rustic cottage, the mystical turquoise sea views go on for miles, tropical trees stretch high above you, untouched powder sand beaches beckon you, and the sunsets are like nowhere else in the world.
COCOS accommodation has a unique charm that emulates Caribbean style, using natural and sustainable resources from the island, with handcrafted wooden furniture and fresh indigenous flower arrangements. While there, Jess was thrilled by how private and secure each cottage felt. The rooms had plenty of space and some even boast an exclusive plunge pool where you can relax, in peace and in seclusion.
While Jess had a wonderful time relaxing by the pool and catching the warm Caribbean sun, there is also plenty on offer at COCOS to keep guests entertained. As there is a focus on romance, COCOS offers private beach dinners, gourmet meals in a paradise location right by the shore. There is also yoga and a rejuvenating spa for guests looking to unwind. The resort has access to 2 fantastic beaches, from which guests can kayak, snorkel and paddleboard in some of the clearest, calmest, and bluest seas you have ever seen.
Jessie’s Tropic Pick – Shanti Maurice Resort & Spa in Mauritius
Jessie has not yet had the opportunity to visit any of our wonderful resorts, but she loves what Shanti Maurice, a luxury resort in Mauritius, has to offer. The dazzling Indian Ocean, the natural beauty of your surroundings and the secluded beaches are sure to take your breath away. For lovers of nature and indulgence, this is the place to be.
Shanti Maurice is a favourite of Jessie’s due to the diversity and excellence of the dining options. With 5 restaurants to discover, each with their own unique twist on traditional Mauritian cuisine, there’s sure to be something wonderful on the menu. The main restaurant, Stars, serves a range of dishes including the resort’s famous Aquacasia cuisine, Indian, Asian, Arabic & Thai specialities. La Kaze Mama celebrates traditional Mauritian home cooking and treats guests to a unique rustic setting whilst they enjoy dishes using ingredients grown in the resort’s own herb garden. Rum Shed Bar & Grill provides the largest variety of rums in Mauritius.
The spa at Shanti Maurice is also not to be missed. Shanti Spa aims to take guests on a journey of self-discovery through the use of invigorating and rejuvenating treatments, influenced by both ancient traditions and modern science. Take part in a challenging work-out or melt into utter relaxation with a massage or hydrotherapy session. Whoever the guest, they are certain to leave Shanti Spa with their soul feeling healthier, cleansed, and soothed.

One of Kate’s top picks is Fairmont Royal Pavilion, on the island of Barbados. Fairmont is a unique colonial style, boutique resort steeped in rich history and indulgent luxury. It is set in the parish of St James and close to the charming town of Speightstown. This is a great resort for those looking to be immersed in local culture and get a little sightseeing done between dips in the pool.

Trish’s Tropic Pick – Sun Siyam Iru Veli in the Maldives
It’s over to our Senior Travel Specialist Trish who has selected Sun Siyam Iru Veli in the Maldives as her Tropic Pick! Resorts in the Maldives are stunning and unique, with many based on their own coral island. Floating villas hover above crystal-clear lagoons and house reefs, teeming with fish, turtles, and dolphins. It’s a postcard paradise with the added luxury of high-class, award winning resorts.
Accommodation at Sun Siyam Iru Veli will take your breath away. Each private villa, some on the water and others on the white-sand beach, come with their own private pool. The Dolphin Ocean Suites are especially in demand as they are located directly over a well-known dolphin passage, meaning you can sit back, relax in your hammock, and watch as they swim and jump through the waters just a stone’s throw away. Trish was lucky enough to spot dozens of dolphins during her visit, and describes it as unforgettable.
Sun Siyam Iru Veli is an all inclusive resort and boasts a great range of dining options. There are 3 restaurants, Aqua Orange, Grouper Grill and Roma, each offering diverse and delicious meals ranging from casual buffets to fresh seafood and Mediterranean classics.
