Young Island is an all-inclusive, private island resort in the Grenadines located close to the coast of St Vincent. It was one of the Caribbean’s first private island resorts and maintains a traditional feel and warm service. Young Island offers a Robinson Crusoe feeling, whilst still being close to the mainland and allowing guests to get out and explore.

Charming suites and cottages

Cottages and suites are found either on the beach level or on the hillside, with stunning views out to sea and towards St Vincent. All accommodations feature a private terrace and open-air garden showers. Luxury suites also boast a separate living room and some have a private plunge pool. We would recommend opting for one of the suites on the hillside, as these offer stunning views towards St Vincent and the ocean.

Young Island offers authentic beachfront dining in open-air, thatched gazebos. An emphasis on local specialities and fresh produce ensures guests enjoy the best flavours of the Caribbean. The resort is known for the freshly baked breads that are served with every meal, with flavours including banana, cinnamon and raisin. The infamous Coconut Bar is just a short swim from the beach at high tide, allowing guests to sip the freshest cocktails on a floating platform - certainly a unique backdrop for that afternoon Mojito!

Enjoy your private island escape

Young Island might only be a few minutes from St Vincent, but a stay here gives you the experience of a private island escape. Spend your days relaxing on the beach, strolling around the island and taking in views of the historical Fort Duvernette or snorkelling on the reef just off the main beach. Our opinion

Young Island is a resort that gives you a real 'Robinson Crusoe' feeling while still being only 200 yards from the main island of St Vincent, meaning you get the best of both worlds. The island has a rustic and laid-back feel, and we found the staff to be super friendly and the food to be excellent. After the night in our Luxury Room with Plunge Pool, we spent the morning exploring the rest of the lush and natural island, climbing to the very top for breath-taking views towards Bequia and Mustique. We then cooled off by snorkelling in the mini lagoon just off the beach.

Room Types

Accommodation at Young Island consists of 29 Cottages which are located at beach level or on the hillside. All cottages feature ceiling fans, mini fridge, wall safe, bathrobes, hairdryer, and a king bed (twin beds available on request). Air-conditioning is available in selected cottages, which can be requested at booking but cannot be guaranteed.

Superior Cottages

Superior Cottages are set around the island with some close to the beach and some set further up the hillside with ocean views
Each room has a king bed, bathroom, furnished patio and an outdoor shower
Maximum occupancy: 2 adults or 2 adults + 2 children in interconnecting cottages

Deluxe Room

These larger cottages are primarily located on the hillside with one the beach, and are more spacious with a sitting area within the bedroom and a large outdoor terrace
Maximum occupancy: 2 adults

Luxury Suite with Plunge Pool

These suites are even more spacious with a large outdoor area, a separate sitting area, and views overlooking the sea
Selected suites have a private plunge pool
Maximum occupancy: 3 adults or 2 adults + 1 child

Duvernette Suite

A two-bedroom suite set in its own garden on the hilltop, offering a master bedroom with king bed and a second room with queen bed, a spacious living and dining room, kitchen, a furnished private yard with a small infinity pool
These suites are ideal for families, but not recommend for two couples as they only have one bathroom
Maximum occupancy: 2 adults + 2 children

Hotel Information

Price for Young Island: Low season packages from £2015 per person; High season from £2460 per person. Prices are based on seven nights accommodation in a Superior Cottage on an all inclusive basis for 2 adults sharing, and include direct flights in economy class from London to St Vincent, and car and ferry transfers to Young Island

Location: Young Island is approximately 30 minutes from St Vincent airport by car and by ferry

Children: Children are accepted all-year round at Young Island, but please note there is no Kid's Club

Facilities: Swimming pool, spa, tennis, walking trails, snorkelling, kayaking and paddle boats

Dining: Stays at Young Island are on an all-inclusive basis. The main restaurant serves locally sourced Caribbean cuisine and is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner
