Ara Iru restaurant has gained a reputation for excellent cuisine. Buffet-style lunches offer a selection of meats, fish, salads and tropical fruits, whilst dinner is a carefully prepared menu which includes innovative flavours to suit all tastes. There are also regular barbecues and traditional Maldivian dinners, and guests can celebrate a special occasion with a private dinner on the beach, in their bungalow or in another idyllic location around the island. Guests can relax on one of Makunudu Island's superb beaches or indulge in one of the rejuvenating treatments offered in Aavun Spa. The 36 bungalows are semi-detached and have thatched roofs with a traditional Maldivian feel. All have air conditioning and ceiling fan, Wi-Fi, open air garden with shower, king or twin beds, minibar and tea and coffee making facilities

Children: As of November 2024, Makunudu no longer accepts new bookings with children under the age of 12. Please note there may still be some families on island for the time being who booked before this new child policy came into place
