Charming rooms an gingerbread style cottages

Accommodation at the hotel is split between the original plantation house and gingerbread-style cottages in the grounds. The charming rooms in the main house offer views over the gardens or out to sea and feature contemporary yet elegant furnishings. The remaining suites and villas occupy detached and semi-detached cottages spread out across the grounds, all individually decorated with vibrant colour schemes. We love the stunning views and private outside space offered by the Main House Sea View Rooms.

Bay view dining

Dining is at Bequia Plantation Hotel’s beachfront restaurant with views over Admiralty Bay, where a combination of typical Caribbean and international cuisine is served al fresco. Pizzas are made to order in a traditional brick oven and are regarded as some of the best on the island. There are also numerous restaurants and beach bars within easy reach of the property.

Relax by the pool or explore Bequia

A swimming pool lies between the restaurant and the cottages, with comfortable sun loungers on a terrace beneath the swaying palm trees. There also is a small beach in front of the hotel, from where guests can easily wander along to Port Elizabeth in one direction or towards the stunning Princess Margaret Beach in the other. Guests wishing to venture further afield can visit places of interest on Bequia such as a turtle sanctuary and historic plantations, while other excursions include yacht charters, scuba diving and snorkelling trips.

Our opinion

Bequia Plantation enjoys a fantastic location just behind the boardwalk between Port Elizabeth and Princess Margaret Beach. It feels very spacious and open, and is the ideal place for guests who are keen to get out and about and explore all that the island has to offer.

Price for Bequia Plantation: Low season packages from £1890 per person; High season from £2210 per person. Prices are based on seven nights accommodation in a Garden View Room on a bed and breakfast basis for 2 adults sharing, and include direct flights in economy class from London to Barbados, internal flights between Barbados and Bequia, and private car transfers in Bequia

Location: Bequia Plantation is approximately a 15 minute drive from Bequia Airport, reached via a flight from Barbados

Children: Children are accepted all-year round, but there are no family facilities

Facilities: Swimming pool, spa, yoga, kayaking and paddle boarding

Dining: Stays at Bequia Plantation are on a bed & breakfast, half board or all inclusive basis. The restaurant is open for breakfast lunch and dinner, and serves excellent pizzas
