Rosewood Little Dix Bay on Virgin Gorda was founded in 1964 by Laurence S. Guests are welcomed by a stylish blend of island charm, comfort and convenience.  The rooms, villas and suites are located just steps from the beach that is considered by many to be one of the finest in the world.  A coral reef sits just off the shoreline providing excellent snorkelling whilst protecting the bay, providing calm waters for swimming.
All the accommodation is elegantly appointed and blends unobtrusively into the surrounding landscape.  The resort comprises of 105 spacious guest rooms and suites, most of which are surrounded by palms providing shade and privacy. Guest rooms have an outdoor patio or terrace with interiors that are light, airy and casually elegant - most with floor-to-ceiling windows.  The bathrooms have double vanities and rain showers and some have soaking tubs.  A number of guestrooms have outdoor garden showers.
At the Sugar Mill restaurant, guests dine on contemporary Pan-Asian and European cuisines with the chef's creations including miso glazed grouper, five-spiced pork belly and Himalayan truffles.  Another popular option is the nightly tasting menu, which is complemented with fine wines. The open air Pavilion restaurant with its vaulted rooftops offers international cuisine and has fantastic views from every table.  Breakfast is served here along with buffet lunches with a selection of salads, vegetables, fruits, meats, cheeses and grills.  Every Monday guests enjoy a grand buffet of salads, grills and fresh seafood fresh seafood including delicious, grilled Anegada lobster.
There's live music most evenings and the neighbouring wallaba-shingled bar offers a selection of Caribbean cocktails and rums in addition to light lunches and afternoon tea, complete with English scones and fruit brochettes.
There's an excellent range of activities available to guests including diving, snorkelling, watersports and hiking.  Rosewood Little Dix Bay offers complimentary beach drops to any one of seven destinations around Virgin Gorda.  Guests are transported by Boston Whaler boat to pristine beaches and are dropped off with beach towels, an umbrella and snorkel gear for a few hours to relax and explore.  The resort can also arrange for a picnic lunch and a bottle of wine for guests to take with them on their excursion (charged for locally).
Dramatically situated on the cliff's edge, Rosewood's Sense Spa overlooks Sir Francis Drake Channel and the resort below.  The spa offers an array of Caribbean therapies that incorporate indigenous plants grown within the grounds of the resort.  Signature luxury treatments include the Virgin Gorda Goat Milk & Honey Wrap and the Salt Island Scrub.  The spa's relaxation area has a two-tier infinity pool and an exclusive Cliff Spa Suite especially for couples. The spa also holds regular yoga, Pilates and meditation classes.

Our Opinion

Last Visited By Jo, Founder

I recently stayed at this stunning resort and spent several happy hours snorkeling with turtles just off the beach. One of the team even spotted an eagle ray. I was very impressed by the cuisine, and being whisked to a secluded beach by speedboat for a picnic was the height of luxury. The clarity of the water was outstanding and I felt truly spoilt.
