Fact File»

Cap Maison is a family owned resort, set on a cliff-top bluff on the northeastern tip of St Lucia overlooking the Caribbean Sea and the island of Martinique. This is a unique and intimate hideaway which is ideal for couples, families or groups of friends looking to unwind and relax.

The resort maintains a reputation for high standard, with accommodation comprising just 49 suite and villas in Spanish Caribbean-style buildings. Features of the recently refurbished rooms are large windows, spacious verandah, terracotta roof tiles, and a fresh decor. Colourful interiors make the rooms feel bright and spacious, using fabrics by designers such as Manoel Conovas and Christian Lacroix.

The Cliff at Cap Restaurant is renowned for fine dining, allowing guests of Cap Maison to experience a gastronomic treat in a setting with an incredibly beautiful backdrop - enjoy contemporary West Indian cuisine partnered with wine selected from the hotel’s extensive wine cellar. The Naked Fisherman’s Bar and Grill is set on the resort’s beach, serving up delicious food beyond most beach grill menus…think lobster rolls, fresh ceviche and Louisiana influenced ‘Seafood Boils’. For something extra special, spend an evening on Rock Maison - a stunning private dining area on the rocks surrounded by the Caribbean Sea where Champagne can even be zip lined down to you! Another option is to snack on charcuterie and artisinal cheeses in the wine cellar, paired with wines and other interesting beverages. The Club Room is an honesty bar which is open throughout the day and night, while Cap Maison also produces its own home aged rum which can be enjoyed at the property and taken home as a souvenir.

During a stay at Cap Maison guests can visit the neighbouring St Lucia Golf & Country Club, spend a day on board Cap Maison’s yacht or enjoy a cooking experience which includes a trip to Rodney Bay to select produce followed by a cookery lesson back at the hotel. Otherwise guests can take advantage of the resort’s cove-like sandy beach where there is a small reef to snorkel over, lounge by the pool or perhaps treat themselves to a relaxing treatment at Cap Maison’s spa.

Additionally there is a wide range of activities available on the island of St Lucia such as fishing trips, zip lining and even hiking the Pitons! Rodney Bay and Gros Islet are both around 10 minutes away by car, with the latter hosting a weekly fish fry that guests can visit with staff. The resort's concierge team will be more than happy to arrange any of these tours for you.

Our Opinion

Offering a great range of accommodation options to suit a variety of group sizes from 2 upwards, this resort really does have something for everyone.  Arriving into the pretty courtyard at night, the in-room check-in was very welcome and set the scene for our relaxed stay.  Rooms are Mediterranean in style and are split between 'villas' throughout the well-tended gardens or facing the sea, all well equipped and spacious. If you are looking for a luxurious getaway, why not book a villa suite with a rooftop pool - the views are stunning, overlooking Martinique and Pigeon Island.

Dining here is a feast, as The Cliff at Cap offers excellent a la carte dining accompanied by a fantastic wine cellar.  I particularly enjoyed breakfast overlooking Pigeon Island - the bircher muesli comes highly recommended!  Alternatively you can take a stroll down to the small cove beach and enjoy beach-side dining at The Naked Fisherman - atmospheric when lit up at night with torches.

The property also has a small spa and gym, and an honesty shop and bar.  These facilities along with the dining options and spacious accommodation means you really do have everything you need for a relaxing, luxurious break!
